KENTFIELD, CONTEMPORARY
With panoramic views of the San Francisco Bay and Mount Tamalpais, the owners of this Japandi-inspired project wanted to maximize their stunning vistas, while being engulfed in natural light year-round. The house now glows like a beacon on the hillside, as we filled it with such an abundance of both natural and architectural light. We emphasized the notion of pausing to enjoy the journey in all areas of the home - the primary corridor has a Zen-like koi pond adjacent to slatted floor to ceiling windows, the kitchen corridor overlooks the treetops, and the primary bedroom corridor offers views of the pool and the Bay.
Grounding the home with earthly elements are a koi pond water feature at the arrival, fireplace upon entering, and properties of wood, honed travertine, brass and iron throughout the interior.
